Hello there and welcome to the Excellent Life.
Let us have a look at our memory verse for the week. It is taken from the book of Psalms 30:5 (KJV) and it reads… “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
Dr. Mike Murdock made a profound definition of wisdom. He stated that “wisdom is the ability to recognize difference whereas honour is the ability to reward difference.” Like him, I do feel strongly that the ability to know the difference actually makes you spoilt for choice and gives you the power to choose.
So let’s start our little discussion…
How do you know to tell day from the night, darkness from light and dim from bright? Tell me, how do you know to tell sweet from sour, happy from sad and success from failure?
You only do because you’ve had the opportunity to taste and experience the two. This therefore gives you the power to decide on which one to choose.
So the next time you feel too depressed because of the darkness all around, just know that the darkness is necessary if you are to appreciate the light.
Be encouraged because the stars shine brightest when the night is darkest!
Pray with me…
Gracious and merciful Father, I thank you for all that I have and all that I am. Most especially, I thank you for the darkness all around because I know it is an opportunity for your word to become true in my life. May my weeping end with this night as your joy fills my heart with the coming morning. This I ask even through Jesus the Christ, who is our victory in all things.
Amen!
