The Botched Mission

God asked Noah to come out.

Then God said to Noah, “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives. – Genesis 8:15‭-‬16 NIV

He was now 601 years old and it has been twelve and a half months now since the flood began and receded. Noah had sent out a raven once and a dove twice to check if the earth had dried up. He was certain after the last spy mission that the earth was drying up. He actually saw for himself that the earth was dried up yet he did not come out.

I am sure Noah was feeling desperate after staying 10 and a half months in an ark stuffed with animals and a few people and yet he waited for two more months until God asked him to come out in verse 15 and 16 and there was a reason for him waiting. He knew the consequences of coming out before God’s scheduled time.

Back to the transformation of the lava into a butterfly, I did a little digging and I found out that if it came out of its cocoon much earlier than scheduled, the lava cannot complete the transformation process. It will only die of dehydration and it will be a botched mission. You may have all the potential to be a great person but moving ahead of God and failing to wait till the appointed time will make you a “near man”.

I pray that may you never become so desperate so as to go begging for silver with your hand of gold.

You have a hand of Gold

Pray with me…

God of awesome wonder. I thank you for a beautiful day and for the precious gift of life. You know I feel desperate sometimes and in such moments I try to help myself by moving ahead of You. But I pray oh Lord, that in my waiting may I never become so desperate so as to go begging for silver with my hand of gold.

Amen!
